Work handled for clients by Fidelity Law since 2010 include the following (in alphabetical order)
Aviation: advising one of Europe’s largest airlines on discrimination matters, particularly disability and race
Commercial contract disputes: defending hi-tec services provider against claim by Spanish sub-contractor: claims in excess of E1m were settled at mediation for a nominal sum
Commercial contracts: negotiation and drafting of long-term brewing contract
Corporate: acted on sale of multinational fitness business - consideration in excess of US$10m/six jurisdictions worldwide
Employment covenants: we have advised on the scope of restrictive covenants for a senior insurance broker (with Andrew Clarke QC) and on enforcement of covenants (matters compromised)
Fraud: currently handling a series of disputes arising from frauds on a semi-professional football club
Intellectual property: worked with associate on successful resolution of dispute between educational testing author and national publishing companies
Insolvency: defeated claims by liquidator against directors for misfeasance – despite the liquidator obtaining insurance, the claims were withdrawn as a result of our intervention
Information technology: successful handling of disputes between a major UK software company and customers, including a clearing bank, major airport and nursing home chain
Management buyout: acting for purchaser of major brand
Professional negligence: currently pursuing claims against accountants for failed film finance tax schemes
Public Procurement: acting for suppliers in challenges under the Public Contracts Regulations 2006
Property: obtained at mediation compensation (and costs) for business owner affected by flooding caused by development of a supermarket
Shareholder dispute: Settled long-running shareholder dispute by negotiating significant increase in sum to be paid to client
